【Intended use】 This product is used for in vitro qualitative detection of barbiturates (BAR)  in human urine. Barbiturates are derivatives of barbituric acid and are a class of universal  central depressants. Barbiturates are used in applications ranging from mild  sedation to complete anesthesia, and is commonly used as anxiolytic,  sleeping pill, and anticonvulsant. 10 times the hypnotic dose can suppress  breathing and even cause death. Continuous long-term use of barbiturates  can cause habituation, and sudden withdrawal is prone to "rebound"  phenomenon. At this time, the REM sleep time is prolonged, and the  nightmares increase, forcing the patient to continue the drug, and eventually  become addicted. After drug addiction is discontinued, the withdrawal  symptoms are obvious, manifested as agitation, insomnia, anxiety, and even  convulsions. 

【Testing principle】 This product adopts colloidal gold immunochromatography technology and  the principle of competitive inhibition method to qualitatively detect barbiturates (BAR) in human urine. The detection area (T) and quality control area  (C) on the nitrocellulose membrane are respectively coated with BAR-BSA  conjugate and goat anti-chicken IgY, and the binding pad contains colloidal  gold marker of chicken IgY-BAR antibody. During the test, if the concentration of BAR in the urine sample is less than 300ng/ml, the colloidal gold  marker of chicken IgY-BAR antibody cannot fully bind to it. The unbound  colloidal gold marker will interact with the BAR-BSA immobilized on the  nitrocellulose membrane during the chromatography, and a purple-red band  appears at the detection area (T). If the concentration of BAR in the urine  sample is higher than 300ng/ml, all the gold marker of chicken IgY-BAR  antibody are all bound, so that no purple-red band appears at the detection  area (T). Regardless of whether BAR is present in the urine sample, a  purple-red band will appear at the quality control area (C). The purple-red  band is used to determine whether there are enough urine samples and  whether the chromatography process meets the normal standards, and also  serve as internal control standards for reagents.
